    A Surprise...

I own an old copy of this, from when the title on the cover was 'Ancrene Wisse,' published in 1962 by Corpus Christie College, Cambridge, at the price of 30 shillings. A fair 90% of the book is in Old English, and will be unreadable to more than 99% of readers. But if you are a completist, you need this book! It's an excellent example of Tolkien's true passion... Philology, the study of language.
