Overview

New York Times bestselling author Sandra Hill continues her sexy Deadly Angels series, as a Viking vangel’s otherworldly mission pairs him with a beautiful chef who whets his thousand-year-old appetite . . .

Once guilty of the deadly sin of gluttony, thousand-year-old Viking vampire angel Cnut Sigurdsson is now a lean, mean, vampire-devil fighting machine. His new side-job? No biggie: just ridding the world of a threat called ISIS while keeping the evil Lucipires (demon vampires) at bay. So when chef Andrea Stewart hires him to rescue her sister from a cult recruiting terrorists at a Montana dude ranch, vangel turns cowboy. Yeehaw!

The too-tempting mortal insists on accompanying him, surprising Cnut with her bravery at every turn. But with terrorists stalking the ranch in demonoid form, Cnut teletransports Andrea and himself out of danger—accidentally into the tenth-century Norselands. Suddenly, they have to find their way back to the future to save her family and the world . . . and to satisfy their insatiable attraction.

In Hill's awkward seventh Deadly Angels paranormal, Viking vampire angels, or Vangels (last seen in Even Vampires Get the Blues), continue fighting terrorism and Satan's Lucipires in the present-day U.S. on behalf of St. Michael the Archangel, all while coincidentally meeting their mates. Cnut, a Vangel and former glutton turned securities expert, meets his when pastry chef Andrea hires him to save her sister, Celie, from a suspected ISIS recruitment cult in Montana. After creating this involved set-up, Hill abandons the plot by lazily reporting that the other Vangels have rescued Celie; she then sends Cnut and Andrea back in time to Cnut's ninth-century Viking estate so that together they can address the local famine that he ignored in his earlier life. Andrea and Cnut hope to return to the present, but they're able to pass the time warming the furs, with the occasional break to fight Lucipires. Though this installment enjoyably reads more like a historical romance than the usual romantic paranormal suspense, the most interesting part is the question of whether Zebulan the Hebrew, a demon who regularly assists the Vangels, will be saved or sacrificed, and readers will have to wait for a later book to learn the answer. I really liked this book and this series. I was visiting my family when I was reading this book and they all looked at me like I was crazy when I tried to describe the Vangels and Lucipires. After I was done they were intrigued. Cnut is gluttony and there are so many things that he says and thinks that I think too. I feel like pretty much any person that tries to eat healthy and exercise fights the "fat people" inside of them. I know I do and she wins so many times. In other words I understand Cnut and it made me really love him. He was a horrible jerk as a Viking. When he goes back to his original time with Andrea he tried to right his wrongs. He realized what he had done to the people who depended on him and he really did work hard to fix his mistakes. Andrea was pretty awesome too. She had a rough childhood in a lot ways. She never went without anything but she was emotionally neglected after her mother passed away. She was responsible for her little sister and that did not change as adults. She hires Cnut to help find her sister and get her away from terrorists. When it all goes wrong, she works hard to help Cnut fix things in his castle. She does not complain. I mean I would be so mad if I were sent back in time. I really like that Cnut is gluttony and falls for a pastry chef. I mean talk about having constant temptation. I am giving this book 4.5 stars out of 5. You have some mystery, some comedy and HOT vangels. What more can you ask for in a book?

I love, love anything that Sandra Hill writes. She is just one of those authors that you can't live without. Her books are always easy to get into and they make me laugh. Her men are so funny!!! Let's not forget, sexy!!!! I've been loving her Deadly Angel's since book #1 and here we are on book #7. How fast this series has moved. Out of all her hero's Cnut is one of my favorite. From the second you meet him you want to know his story. Of course I have a huge issue with his name, from the second I read it, my mind changed it to something else and since then, I have trouble calling him by his true name. Thanks God I don't read out loud! Ha-ha! I think of all the brothers Cnut's story is one we all can really relate to. So many of us use food to hide other issues. As you read his story you really see how much food has run his life and how much he hates it. You'll also will enjoy Andrea, she's a very sweet, caring, pushover. She lets her family treat her pretty badly. I get it, I just wish we had that moment in the book where she tells them, enough is enough! The time-travel part of this story is one of the best parts. I'm glad that Cnut feels he gets some resolution for his past. I do feel like I was missing part of that part of the story. They came back to our time so quick, it felt like the story was left unfinished. Of course that's my only complaint.

Cnut Sigurdsson was a Viking with a serious eating disorder. He was 400 pounds when Archangel Michael stepped in and made him a vangel (vampire angel) for 700 years. In the present he is a private detective that gets the order to go break up an ISIS compound. Not knowing how to get into the compound, when Andrea Stewart walks into his office wanting his help to get her sister out of the same ISIS compound. Cnut feels that Andrea is his soul mate. But she is a huge temptation from her vanilla coconut smell to all the wonderful pastries that she makes. They work together to fight the demons when Cnut manages to accidentally take her back in time. I didn’t really know what I was getting into when I started the story and you meet a 400 pound hero being punished for gluttony. But I did like Cnut, He may be a lean mean fighting machine now but you can tell her clearly has body image issues along with curbing his gluttony. Andrea was such a strong, brave woman that really shone back in time. Plus I loved hearing about all the different goodies she made. There is a lot of humor and although the fight with ISIS seems like this book is going to get serious my favorite part was when they went back in time. I have not the other books in this series but I had no problem figuring out what is going on. After reading The Angel Wore Fangs I will definitely will be checking out the other books in this series. I received The Angel Wore Fangs for free from Harper Collins Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway: The Angel Wore Fangs: A Deadly Angels Novel, Book 7 by Sandra Hill http://wp.me/p3d0RZ-4C7 Publication Date: May 31, 2016 Genre: Paranormal Romance Reviewed by: Reading in Pajamas/ Donna Rated: 5 Stars REVIEW: Another fun Vangel story. I wasn’t sure how Cnut’s story would pan out and I never saw the time travel part of it coming. Normally I don’t like the whole time travel thing but this worked. Andrea was a perfect match for him and I liked how their relationship progressed with everything going on around them. Michael and Zeb had big roles in this story and parts tugged at my heartstrings but I won’t give anything away in my review. Sandra Hill dove in and delivered a fast paced, action driven and sexy story filled with the comedic banter we’ve come to love. I sure hope the next one comes soon because it will be a doozy. *Review copy provided by Avon Books in exchange for an honest review.

This is not my favorite of the series . The book contains too much discussion of food: menus, recipes, and discussion of. I like Andrea but her lifemate , not so much. The potential for a fabulous book is here just not realized. Good news is Zeb's book is coming.
