VOYATeen library services are growing across the country, and librarians are becoming more involved in the lives of young people. School media librarians already become familiar with the problems of their regular patrons, but public librarians who get to know teens more as part of an advisory board or through programming are also acting as mentors. Therefore librarians of young people would be wise to be familiar with the basics of counseling related issues. This workbook has counselor-designed activities with reproducible sheets to explore anger management issues with teens. The activities are developed on a sports theme to appeal to a wide variety of teens. They also use both modern and historical examples of famous people in the situations. This title would be extremely useful for both school and public libraries. Many activities would work for a Teen Advisory Board to do in a public library setting, including surveys about levels of anger or situational tactics. Some of the more in-depth examples are better suited to schools, such as the excellent media search activity, where teens need to find examples of anger gone wrong in the media. Another good activity is the "Sneakers & Cheaters" discussion on passive aggression. 2002, Jalmar Press, 102p., Ages adult professional.
