    Regional mystery at its best

Phoebe Atwood Taylor weaves an intricate story with unique characters and wonderful plot twists. Cape Cod, before it became popular and 'touristy' is the setting and the characters are characters. This story begins with the rental of a cottage to some foreigners and the niece and nephew of the cottage owner dropping by to pick up some trinkets they left at the cottage they last time they visited. After the introduction to an elephant, an unplanned trip on a yacht and a stolen car, Asey Mayo solves the mystery.
