Overview

In 1846, abolitionists in Pennsylvania put together an “Anti-Slavery Alphabet” and displayed it at a fair in the later part of that year. The reaction was positive enough that the Philadelphia Female Anti-Slavery Society reported to newspapers that it had proven very popular at the fair.

While it’s unclear who wrote it, the short writing clearly was designed for younger readers, an obvious effort to help encourage the spread of abolitionism. Fifteen years later, of course, slavery would bring about the Civil War.

This edition of The Anti-Slavery Alphabet is specially formatted with a Table of Contents and illustrations. There is also a version reproduced with the text only.

Children everywhere should be able to read this. Teens, young adults, AND adults. It is a great way to learn that treating someone bad and making them do what you want is not the right way of life. Honestly, NO OFFENSE! But if you have done any of the above you should at least a little bit ashamed of yourself. PLZ PLZ TELL ME IF U THINK THIS REVIEW IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!! P.S. This is a great book! I am also only ten years old Check my reviews everywhere! See yal' later!!!!!!!!
