Enjoyed this book and totally got caught up the in the big question of Delia's seemingly psychic powers. But more than that, it's about a freshman starting high school and navigating the complex social hierarchy there. It's also about family and friendships and maintaining relationships while adolescence is making you change in front of everyone's eyes. I think it really captures the tension between desperately wanting to belong and wanting to stand out and be an individual that isn't just a high school thing.

The high school struggle of trying to "fit in" yet realize one's own identity is beautifully portrayed in this debut YA novel. The story is fluid and captivating, drawing the reader into Delia's world from the start, making the book hard to put down. (Just one more chapter and I'll go to bed, eat dinner, answer my pleading child's calls... lol) All in all a great read for both YA and adults alike. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

What I love is that Elena Perez's approach to this coming-of-age story is so originally and compellingly told. Delia is such a relate-able narrator, and so interesting for how she views the world. I'm really impressed by this debut.
