Overview

There is plenty of literature available that focuses on how to write a resume. There is also an abundance of information available on how to answer the "pat" interview questions. However - until now - it has been very difficult to find one source that put the whole job search/interview process together in one compre-hensive, step-by-step guide. The Art of Effective Interviewing will teach you how to become more successful and help you secure your dream job. From start to finish (prospecting the right opportunity, surviving the phone interview, making an effective presentation, to winning the job offer and negotiating terms), this book will show you how to work your way through the process - and the job search is just that - a process. Within that process there are several steps and if you understand and control the process you are much more likely to win the job offer. Although the job search can be stressful and school doesn't really prepare us for it, it is a process to be embraced. The result of any job search has the potential to impact our day-to-day lives for a number of years. Job changes are exciting and present great opportunity. I love the job search and the interview process more than any job that I have ever had. This I consider a gift . . . I would like to share this gift with you.

The Art of Effective Interviewing is the cliff note version of all of the other boring 'how to' interview books out there. I like the fact the the author speaks in plain witty language that cuts right to the chase regarding the often intimidating process of interviewing. This is a quick read to brush up on your interviewing skills or to develope new ones!

This book is excellent! An all in one source. It sums up all the other books plus more. I kept it with me and did a refresher prior to each interview. I received several offers and got the job I wanted. Short and to the point. If you're looking for a new job or looking for a better opportunity - get it!
