Robinson is a professional artisan whose magnificent and detailed inlays appear on musical instruments owned by many popular contemporary musicians. Here he shows readers how to make their projects truly unique with beautiful inlay work. This revised and expanded second edition (the first published in 1999) includes coverage of advanced techniques and materials like abalam and recon stone. Readers should note, however, that about half of the book is dedicated to color photographs of exquisite inlay work. That leaves only another half for instruction, which is mostly accomplished in the text, with some limited illustrations of technique. Though this little book is pricey and specialized, it is really the only resource available on detailed inlay work. For larger collections or where there is demand.
