The Art of Living Aboard a boat
It’s a dream to sail the seas, to cruise the coastal waters, to live aboard a boat and explore different port o’ calls. Maybe you are steering toward that dream. Maybe you’ve already purchased your first cruising craft, whether sail or motor, and are quickly learning those hand-on lessons that provide some of the best knowledge through experience. Yet boating is a costly venture, financially and physically, and new and novice boaters are quick to employ resources and knowledge through books and other boaters. Living Aboard and Cruising Under Power or Sail is a perfect primer for aspiring and new cruisers. It covers essential live aboard and cruising topics from selection to purchasing, shakedown cruises to long distance preparation, local lifestyles to high sea adventures. Whether for sail or power, Captains Al and Lisa Fittipaldi provide a broad and colorful portrayal of living aboard and cruising, identifying major elements and concerns for those new to the boating community. From paying local taxes to international entry, from traveling with pets to putting a family aboard through home-school, Living Aboard and Cruising Under Power or Sail provides a realistic account of what it really means to make that transition from land to sea. The book is detailed enough to give you the essential and humble enough to point you on to further resources.
