Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

“Whether you dream about joining the hallowed ranks, or if you are simply a papercraft connoisseur, The Art of Pop-Up /by Jean Charles Trebbi/ is an essential read… This book is an ideas mother lode, with international scope. It examines the past and imagines the (sometimes digital) future of paper engineering. This is a book to dip into time and again – a go-to resource and inspiration.” Susan Niner Janes, craft designer, author, and blogger in Make it in Design, Jan 30, 2015
“This amazing book is not only a history of pop-up and novelty books, but is packed with great photos and articles about the books, the industry, and the artists that created them. I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the genre!!” Ray Marshall, paper engineer and graphic designer
“…'The art of pop-up' //…gives a great insight into the world of pop-ups. You can find information about the history of pop-ups and about the pioneers and contemporary pop-up artists as well as the different techniques of pop-ups. And not only in writing. It is an elaborate reference book about all things pop-up."— faltmanufaktur blog by Martina Kraus, freelance illustrator & paper engineer
"Trebbi clearly has done his research and is a lover of the paper art form…This reviewer loved all the examples that were included in the book. The text is dense but The Art of Pop-Up inspires one to pour over the pages to learn about the sheer creativity and breathtaking art that pop-up books really are. Models and templates are included at the end of the book, in case the reader wants to take it a step further and try their hand at this wonderful art form." Seniye Groff in Portland Book Review
