John was like any other six year old boy. Ahe went to kindergarten, where he was loved by all. He loved his parents, and they loved John very much. The leaves were just beginng to change when John's dad got stationed in Seattle. John was very upset, because he had to leave everything he knew and loved.

And so they moved to Seattle and John's dad was sent out on a eight-month deployment at sea. John's mother missed her husband very much, and John didn't like to see her so sad. It was only the second time his dad had been deployed, and his mother seemed sadder than last time. John really wanted to cheer her up. So the morning after John's dad left, John's mother was sitting at the table eating cereal in a sad manner.
"Mommy, will you play cars with me?" He asked, holding his favorite blue racecar and smiling with his snaggletoothed smile. His mother chuckled. "Johnny, Mommy is eating right now. How about I put on a video for you?" John really wanted to play together with his mom, but he supposed this was just as well. His mother put on a Teletubbies video, which was still one of John's favorite shows, no matter how much he detested it in public. The happy, playful characters danced in front of John's eyes, comforting him. The sun giggled and all the characters danced and played. Then, one particular segment came on.

-John looks so happy...- thought John's mother. -I hope he isn't worried about my being a little upset. I just miss Keith so much.- She sighed, and felt tears pricking the back of her eyes. Not wanting John to see her cry, she quickly stood up and walked down the hall to her bedroom. The house was still cluttered from the move, and she had to squeeze by to get down the hall. She sat on her bed, tears gently rolling down her face. She spaced out, the sounds of the Teletubbies segment playing the other room fading.

The segment began with a house gently fading into the scene. It was a two-story colonial house. All the windows had the curtains pulled back and the lights on. Cute, light accordion music began to play, with a twinkling triangle and bell accompaniment. A puppet appeared in one of the windows, and he began singing a song in a nasal voice. The puppet moved from window to window, dancing as he sang. And John watched. A low, primal drumbeat slowly rose in the background of the music. The song of the puppet began to slow, and the wirds changed to some foreign language. The video quality also decreased, and static began to prick the edges of the screen. John felt strange, and he could not avert his eyes. As the song continued, the foreign words changed to a strange, nasal "Uhhhhh, Ahhh, Uhhh Ahh Uhhh," and the sun went down on the screen. The drums were loud now, and the speakers were reaching their limit. The singing was just as loud, and suddenly, the music stopped and the puppet uttered one last line of song as the screen cut to black.

John's mother was snapped back to reality by a loud noise from the TV room, followed by silence. "John?" She called. As she squeezed through the boxes, she saw her son, standing directly in front of the TV, with his back to her. "Johnny?" He didn't respond. Out of nowhere, the puppet's dismembered and grotesque face flashed on the screen as it repeated the last line of the song. John's head whipped around, competely backwards, and he screamed the last line of the song.
