About the Author

Teresa Hsu, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist, and founder and executive director of SPEAK (a Supportive Place for Empowering Asian Americans and Kin, www.connecttospeak.org)—a nonprofit organization committed to the mental health and wellness of Asian Americans through education, research, and services. Hsu has a dual appointment as assistant professor of the department of psychiatry behavioral sciences, and the department of academic general pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. As a former assistant director of the Behavioral Health Integration Program at Montefiore Medical Center, she helped establish one of the largest integrated pediatric primary care programs in the nation. She has a BA in psychology and piano performance from Northwestern University, and a PhD in clinical psychology from The George Washington University. She lives near New York, NY.
