Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com - Mark Thompson
I'm a fan of historical fiction and travel stories which give me a flavor for life in foreign places. 'The Autogrill Murder' may have opened up a new genre for me. After finishing the book, I am even more interested in traveling to Calabria. The book held my interest from beginning to end and I found myself cheering for the good guys who just want to go about their lives but find it difficult to do so amidst the enduring mafia establishment

I was amazed at what a good read it was. The story is well developed and the characters are memorable, including a young Italian female police officer that I hope shows up again in his next book. Although I don't speak Italian, it was fun and a bit "continntal" to be transported to southern Italy and see little bits of the written language. The Autogrill Murder reminded me of Camilleri's Maltobano stories, with lots of dialog and focus on italian locations, customs and food.

This book captures the life of Southern Italy. It is a quick read because once you start you don't want to put the book down. I have been in Italy and this book covers the life of people there along with the smaller cities and how the people live. Also, you want to continue the read to find out what happens. I would recomend this book especialy if you have traveled in Italty or are of Italian decent.
