I really loved this book. It’s about a shocking real serial murder case. As the mystery of the brutal killings unfolded, I was drawn to the two main characters, New Orleans cop Colin Fitzgerald and his news reporter friend Emile Denoux, both of whom staked their lives and careers on finding the monster who was killing so many innocent Italian grocers and their families. Both Colin and Emile are both struggling to live up to the heroic reputations of their fathers, and in so doing, taking outrageous risks resulting in horrible injuries. The characterization of these two feisty heroes is so engaging and the pace builds and builds and builds. The overreaching backdrop of this serial killer case is the entrenched corruption in the New Orleans political machine and police brass. If you like engaging detective stories and real life mysteries, I strongly recommend this book to you
