In the neighborhood of Marshfield Lake, seventh-grader Kaitlyn Sweeney has a monopoly on babysitting. Good thing, too, since she's saving up for a trip to Wonder World with her two best friends, Liesel and Maggie. They've been planning and saving for it since fifth grade, but Kaitlyn worries that Liesel may not save all the money she needs in time.

So when someone offers her twice her regular fee to take a last minute job, Kaitlyn feels guilty, but compelled to lie to the parents who had already booked her for that night, saying that she's sick and can't come.

This is the first step in the Babysitting Wars. A new girl, Nola, moves in on Kaitlyn's turf, and everybody loves her. Suddenly, super-competitive Kaitlyn is getting no jobs at all, and she's determined to prove herself the best babysitter around. But what happens when her competition gets in the way of her friendship with Liesel and Maggie?

A quick, fun read, I adored the easy flow of the author's style, and felt disappointed that there is no series based on Kaitlyn and her friends. They're a riot!

    Well...

It was a good book! But I doubt I would read it again though. The book is very adsorbing and it's a book I will most likely never forget! The story line is pretty good. I would recommend this book to babysitters and someone trying to become one because they give you good tips on how to handle little kids. The books gets better towards the end but in the beginning it's sort of slow.... I would recommend this book to people who babysit and have little brothers and or sisters and I would recommend it to some people just to read for fun.

    Great Book - Wonderful Series

My daughter and I started reading the Candy Apple book series about a year ago and we LOVE them! Each one has a great story and plot with valuable all american girl values. None of that kissy-kissy stuff. My daughter is 9 now and the stories are perfectly appropriate. Great for tweens her age.

    A wonderful book to read!!!

Kaitlin (the main character) is the top babysitter in her town, until the new girl Nola moves to her town, then Nola starts taking Kaitlin's costumers. Now it is a babysitting war. I thought the book was great! I loved it; it was the best book I have ever read. I recommend this book to everyone; it is a funny book, and entertaining. I have read this book like 2 or 3 times!!! Kaitlin Sweeny was a girl who loved babysitting, her friends were Maggie, and Liesel they were always together in the book. The reason that Kaitlin really babysat is because her and her two friends were planning a trip to wonder World at the end of the school year, Kaitlin was trying to make money to go. When the new girl moves into town, there is a war a babysitting war, Nola (the new girl) was a great babysitter from her town she loved to babysit, then Kaitlin lied about being able to babysit for a certain family, so that changed everything. The family that Kaitlin used to babysit now had a new babysitter which was Nola. Kaitlin was getting no jobs at all because someone who Kaitlin thought it was Nola said that Kaitlin had mono. This all happened because of Kaitlin lying about babysitting so she ended up with no jobs. In the end everything turned out to be good!
I really did love the book; it was a book that I couldn't put down!
The book was really interesting, fun, entertaining, and I would recommend it to everyone! I absolutely loved the book! It was very interesting! (:
