Meet the Author

English through and through, Josephine Myles is addicted to tea and busy cultivating a reputation for eccentricity. She writes gay erotica and romance, but finds the erotica keeps cuddling up to the romance, and the romance keeps corrupting the erotica. Jo blames her rebellious muse but he never listens to her anyway, no matter how much she threatens him with a big stick. She’s beginning to suspect he enjoys it.

Jo is a member of the Romantic Novelists Association and publishes regularly with Samhain. She’s one of the organising team behind the UK Meet, an annual event celebrating GLBTQ fiction. She has also been known to edit anthologies and self-publish on occasion.

Deep within America’s mystical Delmarva Peninsula, author and architect Chrissie Bentley collects vintage erotica, believes in ghosts and has a sweet tooth that even her dentist admires. Addicted to writing since she was young, she ran out of time to do everything she wanted so she created a pseudonym to take up the slack. Jenny Swallows blogs furiously, haunts Facebook and composes obscene poetry, leaving Chrissie free to write stories, pay the bills and feed the cats.

Visit to find out more about her, or just write and ask - she loves getting messages, and adores exchanging memories and anecdotes.

Described as “apocalyptic” by The Paris Review, Chrissie’s novel The Nympho Librarian & Other Stories was a 2012 best-seller on Amazon’s chart of books with the word “librarian” in the title; among over a dozen other novels and collections, her other works include Miss America: A BDSM Vampire Tale; the supernatural erotica of Below Blue London (“Bow Bells with blowjobs” is her succinct summary); and three collections of Ambrose Horne’s Victorian sex-detective stories published by Xcite.

Her latest, a semi-fictional study of the blue movie industry in London in the late 1960s will be published later this year.

Chrissie’s short stories have also appeared in Best Women’s Erotica 2012, the Mammoth Book of Lesbian Erotica, The Bad Girl’s Sweet Kiss (published by Xcite and co-edited with Miranda Forbes), various editions of Xcite’s Cocktales series and many more.

And when she’s not listening to Garbage, Jem and Broadcast CDs, playing with the cats or torturing her boyfriend (in the nicest possible way), she’ll probably have her nose buried away in Second Life. Where she writes stories, listens to Garbage, Jem and Broadcast, plays with cats... hmmm. I think we're seeing a pattern here.

Read an Excerpt

I WAS A 19-YEAR-OLD girl waitressing at a local diner to make ends meet while I attended college. I was struggling to figure out if I was a lesbian or just fed up with the so-called men I had been dating. I rather suspected the former, but I didn’t know any other lesbians to ask questions of; the internet was a distant dream; and the only real inkling I had of what went on between two women were the things I saw on the pornos I stole from my brothers and dad, and which I watched with a real fanaticism. In fact, it had occurred to me that I might be gay when I realised I was always fast-forwarding through those movies until I got to the obligatory girl/ girl scene.
I was desperate to know. I was also aware that none of the women I saw in the flicks really turned me on. But the acts they committed did; the sight of tongues on pink flesh, and fingers disappearing inside pussies shortened my breath. Watching dildos being used sent me running for the bathroom and the shower head, and the first time I saw a strap-on being plunged into a hot hole, I came unaided and without any thought at all.
I had an idea that I wanted a butch. One of those the guys called diesel dykes and made fun of. It never ceases to amaze me, even after all these years, how weird and unfair men can be when it comes to female homosexuality. They will applaud two femmes, ask to join in, make sly and nasty remarks, but they don’t mean any real harm. Let them see a hard-as-hell butch and they get all twitchy. Maybe they sense the true competition from them or something.
I wanted a butch and there was only one I knew of in my small city. She came into the diner late at night, ate a solitary meal and left again, always alone, never speaking more than what she needed to say to order her meal and say her thanks.
I waited until she was sitting there one night, eating her eggs, and I walked up to her, trying to control my pounding heart and said, ‘I think you are really sexy.’
I felt like an ass but you know what? Looking at her with her black hair cut so low that her scalp showed pink below it, her thick muscular body in the tight blue jeans and creaking leather jacket, I was so excited I could not breathe. She was sexy. Sexy as fuck, so that’s what I added. ‘I want you to fuck me, please.’ Then I grinned at her, while my face went scarlet and my knees began to shake so hard I thought I would fall over right there.
‘My car is outside,’ was all she said and I told my boss I had a fever, which wasn’t a lie at all, and followed her outside.
We were in her trailer and in her bed so fast I don’t really know how it happened, I just know she took my clothes off so very slowly, and kissed me until my body was screaming for something, anything at all. My nipples stood up in hot hard peaks, the cool air coming up from the vents teased the wet places on my body and I was nearly weeping with fear and need. I was so confused and yet so excited I kept trying to grind myself against her and when she said she was a “stone butch”, and asked if I knew what that meant, I wanted to lie and say I did. But I was also afraid it was a test, so I admitted I didn’t.
‘I get off getting off pretty women,’ she said, ‘I wanna fuck you. I wanna make you come on my cock and my tongue and then do it all over again. Can you handle that?’
Yes I could. When she laid me down in the bed, I had this one bad moment ... what if I stink or don’t get it right? Fear every girl gets and then ... then her tongue was touching me.
The three guys I had dated had tried it on me but they had been shy, tentative, afraid. She was bold, knowledgeable and her mouth was so hot.
There was this high-pitched sweet moment, it was like standing on a thin sheet of glass and hearing the note that will shatter it, and it did break. I arched up under her hands, her mouth, pulling her short hair and screaming while all the want and need I had ever kept secret inside of me poured out over her face and fingers, and I heard her moaning out, ‘Yes, baby, yes,’ and that made me come harder and over and over again.
She loved me, my whole pussy throbbed and ached and pulsed. Her giving took me to that place and showed me where it was that I wanted to stay... all my life, I will love that place, the spot where my butches’ mouths takes me. The place where I am a burning creature with no fear, just a muscular and necessary lust that is being taken care of in a way that nobody besides a butch can perfect.
That was my first mouth-to-pussy kiss and that stone took me to a place where all the bells were ringing. I never forgot it. I never will. Everyone should be so lucky.

An enjoyable read. I adored the poems. For me I would have preferred longer stories but an enjoyable read regardless. For those that may not know these stories are accounts of the authors first time of oral sex, either giving or receiving it. Well worth a read!

I really think that this book shouldn't be read by girls at Elementry school and at High and Middle school. To much sex. But it is a perfect book for College students. If Elementry and High and Middle school students read this book, they would then think that sex is a good thing and have sex with their secret or not-so-secret crush.
