Overview

Jessi Brand always gets what she wants. And what she wants is part time ranch hand, part time deputy, and full time hunk, Lash Monroe. Unfortunately, her five big (really big) brothers have other ideas. And so does Lash, who had his fill of large families and overbearing "brothers" during his childhood in foster care. He's a loner and a drifter and he intends to stay that way.

Can the youngest Brand on the ranch handle six uncooperative males and land the man of her dreams? Maybe, but when trouble finds Lash and he heads off to face it alone, everything else takes a back seat, because the Brand family sticks together, and like it or not, Lash has become a part of that family. And when the cavalry shows up, it's Jessi leading the charge.

I had never heard of Maggie Shayne before so I picked up this Harlequin hoping for a good romance, despite it's somewhat goofy title. I immediately became a Maggie Shayne fan! Jessie, a young virgin cowgirl from a small town, falls in love with a tall, dark and handsome ranch hand and loses her virginity. She quickly discovers she's pregnant and isn't sure what to do as she doesn't yet believe her lover loves her back. She must also hide the fact that she's no longer a virgin and a mother-to-be from her four older, overprotective brothers who would do anything to defend her honor. Not only was this a good romance novel, it was funny as well! I laughed out loud at least twice and enjoyed it thoroughly. I bought this book 3 years ago and I've read it several times, enjoying it every time as much as I did the first - the humor and the romance do not lose their luster which each read, and I find myself wistfully sighing over Wes (the oldest brother) each time. 5 stars!

Maggie Shayne is one of the best authors. Her stories are a page turner from the start. You just have to find out what's going to happen next. You laugh and sometimes cry. The entire Brand Series Texas and Oklahoma so far have been AWESOME! So get reading!!

Starts with Lash Monroe being raised as a foster child by a Bible Thumping pastor who conducted services in a tent moving from place to place... Follows Lash throughout his life and his various jobs and locations until he winds up in a town where he meets Jessie, newly graduated vet with five BIG brothers... She is immediately smitten and he is determined to keep moving...Brothers are determined to protect her... Some of their story is funny, some is sad but all in all it is a very good, fast moving read that all will enjoy...

What do you do with four overprotective brothers? Jessi Brand fell in love with the hired hand. There was two problems though. She had to find a way to convince Lash that she loved him and convince her brothers not to kill him. She gave Lash her virginity and he gave Her a baby. Only he doesn't know.

Th Baddest Virgin In Texas was a very cute and funny romance book. is the second book in The Texas Brand Series by Maggie Shayne. Jessi Brand the only girl in the family has set her eyes on Lash Monroe who is a drifter. Says he won't settle down. Jessi lets him know she is after him. They have sex. She is a virgin. He figures he has to do right and marry her. Jessi says know since he only wants to marry her cause she was a virgin and not because he loves her. She ends up getting pregnant. He wants to marry her but she says no again. Until she overhears him talking to her brothers saying he really love her and has to win her back. A very good and funny book.

I love Maggie Shaynes books! My new favorite writer. This book was great, just like the rest. Interesting stories keep you turning the pages to see what happens next & wonderful characters that make you feel like they're your friends & neighbors. Lots of romance, good times, a bit of mystery with a crime to solve & a close caring family that come together whenever needed.
