This book was seriously lacking. There was absolutely no point. I thought i was going to read about rosamundes love being resolved. Instead, i got nothing. Would have given no stars if possible.

I was thrilled to find the book the Ballad of Rosamunde as Rosamunde was such a prominent character in the other books of this series. this is a short story heavily influenced by the Fae. It's almost a must that you enjoy the doings of the Fairy folk to enjoy this book. I think to get the most enjoyment out of the Jewels of Kinfailie series they should be read in order with Rosamunde rounding out the series. However each book is excellent and can stand alone. This is a sweet novella that ties into the Jewels of Kinfairlie, taking place after The Snow White Bride. When we last see Rosamunde she has returned to Ravensmuir with the hope of finding happiness with Tynan, her longtime lover. But alas it was not to be and as the caverns of Ravensmuir collapse around her, Rosamunde becomes trapped in the land of the Fae. When it seems as if her only option is to become the next passing fancy of the Fae king an unexpected "white knight" rides to her rescue. No one is more deserving than Rosamunde to find their happily ever after and I'm so glad she finally has her own story. **Copy gifted by the Publisher in exchange for an honest review**

After reading virtually all of Ms. Delacroix's "The Jewels of Kinfairlie" series, I finally got around to the novella "The Ballad of Rosamunde" and it was a satisfying resolution to a plot twist that, to be honest, always bothered me. Rosamunde played a large part in each of the other stories, as an advisor, shoulder to cry on and all around loving aunt, and to have had her meet the end that she did in the earlier stories was unsettling, to say the least. But never fear, Ms. Delacroix has wrapped up her story beautifully and given Rosamunde her HEA after all! Loved it! Copy gifted by the Publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I haven't delved into a medieval romance in a while, so this was a refreshing dip! Ms. Delacroix intersperses the story narration with a ballad, making for a unique read. Taking Rosamunde from her previous adventures and interjecting hindsight and introspection where Padraig is involved makes this behind-the-scenes story sweet and poignant. I'm so glad Rosemunde finally got to be the heroine in her own story! I received this novella for free in exchange for an honest review.

Good story but needed to be fleshed out a bit...could have made a great full-length novel.
