Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Carolyn Williams
Egg and his friends are back in another adventure in the “Field Trip Mysteries” series. The group is on a class field trip to see a baseball game of the local team, the River Rats. The game is delayed as the cash register at the snack bar is reported missing. Egg and his friends use clues and the pictures on Egg’s camera to try and catch their suspects. The group is first suspicious of one of the troublemakers in their class, whose father is also chaperoning their trip. After coming up with negative results, they expand their suspect list to the players on the River Rats team. Using logic and reasoning, the group is able to recover the missing cash register and save the game day. This book allows its readers to put their own clues together and follow along as Egg and his friends solve the mystery of the missing cash register. Brezenoff does a great job constructing this entertaining book for young readers. Baseball fans or not, this story is sure to please. Reviewer: Carolyn Williams; Ages 6 to 10.
