Great read! Couldn't put it down!

As a teacher, I'm always looking for a great read to pass on to my students. Newbold has done just that - one that can easily be taken to the big screen. Original and believeable characters, descriptive writing, great use of word play - this novel was hard to put down - even with over 700 pages. Superb adventure for kids 4-8th grade - weaves baseball, magic, good vs evil. I'm looking forward to more of Newbold's writing. Recommended for HP fans.

Very Intense, One of My Favorites!

I really enjoyed this book. Definitely one of my favorites. It was a very long book, but I think it was worth reading. At first I didn't really look forward to reading this book. But as I kept reading it, it just kept getting better and better. By the sixth or seventh chapter I was hooked to the book. There was no way I was going to put it down. I know two other people that have read this book, and so far everyone has liked it. Someone asked me if this would be a good book for boys who don't like to read. I would say yes to that, it is very captivating, and has so many twists and turns that you have no idea what is going to happen next. Especially if the reader is a fan of baseball. I am a girl who does not enjoy the game of baseball. I didn't really get tons of the things that were happening when the boys in this book were playing. But I got a lot of it. Whether the reader likes baseball or not, it is a fantastic book. I once read a book that was 800 pages long. Still to this day it is my favorite book. I think that no matter how long the book is, as long as it stays interesting, you should keep on reading. It is the same with this book. It may seam super long but it will make you want to read more and more. This book also reveals what kinds of relationships people have, and how some kids act today. The main character and his teammates, can show how teenagers are today. I think that a book is easier to read when you can relate to it. The boys in this book are mischievous, and show an exact replica of kids today. This book has magic, love, true friendships, and deception all in one. The reason I chose this book was because I met the author. I really enjoyed talking to the author and hearing about the book before I even picked it up. This author usually writes history books, and this is his first fiction book. Out of all the fiction books I have read, this is now in my top 5 best books. The thing I liked most about this book, was the twists and turns in it. With some books you can mostly predict what is going to happen. But with this one I couldn't even predict the end because of all the weird things that kept happening. I thought this book would end with the usual ending, but it ended in a way that would never be expected. In all parts of the book I would try to guess what was going to happen, but I never got it right. When i met the author, he wrote in the book to dream big and read lots. The things he said when he signed it made me want to read more, plus read his book that he wrote. The influence of others often has an impact on us to do things. Hopefully this will help viewers want to read this book. This is a book all should read. It will keep your interest, and you won't regret your decision!
