Overview

The hag plunged him into the cold darkness of the canal's current and then tossed him easily onto the muddy bank. Cletis gasped for air and cried for help. But the forest was empty. No one had ever lived to tell of seeing the witch. Taking his arm, she dragged him to the back porch of the broken hovel in which she lived. There, under the light of a single bulb, she turned to Cletis, revealing the fleshy and pocked face that all but covered the emerald green eyes that peered back at him - eyes that knew him, pierced him. Eyes that would lure him back to her time and again, enticing him into a labyrinth of ancient prophecy, time travel, magic, and danger...and a revelation of his true identity!

About the Author

Actor and Author Bruce Newbold has guest-starred, co-starred, and appeared in television programs such as Hill Street Blues, L.A. Law, Touched by an Angel, Highway to Heaven, Tour of Duty, Major Dad, Everwood, and Father Dowling Mysteries. He has also worked in such films as Bonneville; The Executioner's Song; A More Perfect Union; Perfect Murder, Perfect Town; Silk Hope; Only a Stonecutter; and the Disney TV movies Pixel Perfect and the Poof Point.

His one-man dramatization depicting the life and ministry of Jesue Christ, In Him Was Life, has been performed on stages in the United States and England.

In 1997 Newbold accompanied the sesquicentennial Oregon Trail/Mormon Trail Wagon Train, writing and hosting the fourteen-part documentary, entitled Legacy West. He was later commissioned by Deseret Book Publishing Company to write the experiences of the adventure. The book, In Our Father's Footsteps, was published in 1998.

The Baseball Box Prophesy is base on one of three screenplays Newbold optioned in the Hollywood market.
