This story is about Earth's first steps to colonize our solar system and start exploring the galaxy using a fleet of commercial and naval spaceships. As colonization and exploration expands, an alien race (who is never identified) invades the solar system and invades earth. Earth's governments and military defenses are defeated by the aliens and only token pockets of resistance remain on Earth. It's up to a few naval carrier groups, that were not at Earth during the invasion, to rid Earth of the alien invaders with help from an unexpected source. The story focuses on newly developed fighter wings attached to the surviving fleet carriers and the men and women who are part of the wings. The new fighters, good leadership, and some unexpected luck are just what the Navy needs to defeat the aliens. The overall plot was good but there are some spelling and grammar errors. Also, the story didn't flow well as the characters, technology, and aliens could have been developed and tied together a little better. Overall, it was a good story and worth the price charged for the novel. I'm sure that with a little more writing experience, the author will be releasing some great books in the future.
