Perfect for flipping open and running through some songs.

Tons of songs. Almost all are on one or two pages - not much page turning. They're simplified enough that you can run through them at first sitting, but the voicings are correct enough that the songs sound right. Only 'chord' book I've ever found much use for and I play with this one a lot.

    Campfire or Party Sing-A-Longs

The book is perfect for learning all the Beatles tunes to play in a party, group, or camping situation, places like that. It isn't for those wanting to play their songs in a band with the correct positions or capo placement or note specific. But you cannot go wrong for the sing-a-long type playing. They are mostly in the original key and have been adapted to use as many open chord structures as possible for the acoustic player. PERFECT!

I've only been playing, to date, for 3 months, and not only am I

I've only been playing, to date, for 3 months, and not only am I playing my favorite Beatles tunes, but the chords in the book are enough - and way more - to give you a strong foundation for playing tons of songs.  The best is when you use them to make your own stuff

    more from this reviewer

    Sing in the Car!

What can I say. I have grandchildren in the backseat and they constantly say "we don't know that music you're playing," so I got them the Beatles songbook. Now the four of us are screaming out the words to "I wanna hold your hand!" and laughing and have a great time. What a way to bond with family. Yes, I'm a hippie and know the words to all those songs that I love, but hearing them out of my grandchildren's voices is worth a million bucks! We get in the car now and they're fighting for the book and telling me which CD to put in. Little rugrats. Enjoy!

A great bargain for the Beatle lover.

Beatles songs, in my opinion, are the best way to learn to play chords on a guitar. The strong melodies and innovative chord changes, makes it easy to recognize that your playing the correct song. And this book gets the chording right for the most part, and the songs are in the same key as the CD's, so you can play right along.A warning though, make sure that you're pretty well aquatinted with the material, as the book expects you to know when to change to the different chords. He lists the chords above the words in the song as guidance, but it does help to really KNOW the tunes.I think all music books should have spiral bindings and should be able to lay flat, since your hands are a bit busy playing the guitar. All in all, a great book. Buy it.
