If I could give it more stars, I would!

The woman can just do no wrong! A purity of voice that cannot be matched. An excellent compilation of arias and favorites songs to give any classical music newcomer an excellent window in what the classical voice has to offer. The Louise aria if ever so perfectly fitted to Fleming's voice. Her ability to bloom notes from pianissimo to forte is uncanny! Fleming's rendition of the Faust "Jewel Song" is my favorite to date. "Songs my mother taught me" is a precious jewel of a song and Fleming treats it with it's proper delicacy. "The Last Rose of Summer" is a tender lullaby that Fleming adds her special flavor to. The La Rondine aria is just gorgeous. I played it for my Italian singing diction class and everyone instantly wanted to go out and buy her CD's. Strauss' "Morgen!" is musical EXTREMELY difficult and Fleming lets it float easily right out. Rachmoninoff's Vocalise, Vilja, and the tricky Bailero are also favorites. Fleming establishes herself in this disc as a true artist. She is a unique soprano with a constant but ever so soft vibrato and creamy voluptuous tones. Definitely a soprano to watch.

    Very monotonous

I love Renee Fleming's voice. I think she is very talented, and I buy all of her new albums, no questions asked. But I'm getting a little bit tired of her funeral march paced songs. She obvioiusly wants to make each note as beautiful as possible, but she tries to cram to many nuances into every sound. She doesn't need to do that to interest her audience, in fact, her choice of slow, repititious songs is probably the only flaw in this fantastic artist.

    In Love...

This was my first Renee Fleming ablum and one of my favorite cds. Her sheer grace and emotion are what make this recording so amazing. She truly has "the beautiful voice." The recording has such a range of genres, there's something here for all vocal/opera lovers. Definitely recommended!
