    Wow! Great teaser!

Reading "Beginning" was full of great characters. Looking forward to getting to know them better. Karen does a wonderful job of making her characters seem like real people. Can't wait to see how Jesus works in these new lives.

    Great book

I cannot wait to read the next book. She is a fantastic author. I have yet to be disappointed in one of her books. They don't always turn out like I want or expect, but they are always a great read.

    Great, touching....

I was searching for FREE books on my NOOKcolor, sure enough, i found this one! I couldnt get over it, literally..I loved it so much, but the first few chapters are REALLY sad,.i almost cried-and i never cry over books... But Karen Kingsbury is such a great author, and i loved this book. Finished it in 24hours though! Still, besides the shortness, it was wonderfully great, and had a touch of romance as well... Perfect book, just what i was looking for.. ( even if that means it took me awhile to figure and put certain pieces together!)

    Wonderful!!

This was a wonderful read!! I cannot wait to read The Bridge! This pulls you in to the story as if you are there. I was finished in less than 30 minutes and do not think I am a fast reader!

This book introduces us to the new bookstore in town and gives us the story of its inception through the eyes of the Bartons. Ms Kingsbury drew me into the lives of Charlie and Donna from the start, making me want to be with them as they lived their lives. My heart breaks when they lose one dream, rejoices as they conceive and realize another. The description of that dream, a bookstore, makes it come alive for me, introducing another major character. I LOVE bookstores, don't you? Like a combination candy and toy store. As I read the story, I was every new customer that entered The Bridge's door, realizing here was a new destination where I could and would meet friends, old and new alike. I was tickled at the cameo appearance of Alcott's Little Women, a perennial favorite of mine. Then there's the faith the Bartons had in themselves and each other. Very inspiring -- and yes, there are people like that, I know some of them. Theirs was a faith that led them to make the bookstore a reality and helping others in the process. This book also introduces us to Edna, whose story, to me, parallels that of Charlie and Donna. I enjoyed this story very much, whetting my appetite for The Bridge, which I look forward to reading.

    Nice Prequel

It is a cute, short story of how a quaint bookstore got it start and the influences the owners have on the lives its' customers. Worth the $.99! Read before you read "The Bridge."
