Meet the Author

Stan and Jan Berenstain introduced the first Berenstain Bear books in 1962. Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too. Though Stan died in 2005, and Jan in 2012, Mike continues to create the delightful Bear adventures from the family home and studio in Pennsylvania, in an area that looks much like the sunny dirt road deep in Bear Country.

Can you believe that Christmas is only six weeks away? I am hoping to start a new Advent tradition with our son this year. I plan to wrap up Christmas themed books and let him open one each day to read before bedtime. I have a mixture of books from our own collection and books from the library. I am being very intentional about which books to include. I don't want to focus on presents or Santa, but rather on the true celebration of Christmas and what it means for us as Christians. The Berenstain Bears The Very First Christmas is on our list, and it fits this description perfectly. Featuring the lovable Bear family and characters, the book tells the story of Christmas pretty much straight from the Bible while still being concise and accessible for young readers. I appreciated how it incorporated Biblical text and continued the story beyond Jesus' birth to include the shepherds, wise men, and ending with Joseph and Mary taking Jesus to Egypt. The illustrations are a very similar style as other Berenstain Bear books as well as the softcover book format. If you have any Berestain Bear fans at your house, this book would be a fun gift for them this Christmas. Who doesn’t love the Berenstain bears? I loved the books as a kid and my kiddos have enjoyed the books and the television show. The Very First Christmas, is written just as your other favorite Berenstain Bears. Its easy to understand text and colorful illustrations in the Berenstain Bears fashion make this the perfect first story of Jesus’s birth for any little one! This book would make a great stocking stuffer or Christmas gift!

The Berenstain Bears, The Very First Christmas by Jan & Mike Berenstain is an amazingly cute book! I grew up with the Berenstain Bear books and movies and absolutely loved them as a child. I'm so excited that my kids get to grow up with them as well and that they enjoy them just as much as I did as a child. The Berenstain Bears, The Very First Christmas by Jan & Mike Berenstain begins with Papa Bear reading to Brother, Sister and Honey on Christmas Eve. Papa Bear begins reading about the very first Christmas out of the families storybook Bible. Through this story the children learn the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate it. The illustration are beautiful and the book is very well written and kept my kids attention. My family and I absolutely love this book and are glad to be able to add it to our Christmas reading list. I also love that at the end of this book their are questions and activities to help families dive even deeper into the true meaning of Christmas. This is an excellent book and I highly recommend it! Disclosure: I received product(s) for free, in exchange for my honest review. I only recommend products I've used personally, and believe will be good fit for consumers.

I must say this every book, but the Berenstain bears is a classic and always one of my favorite book series. There books always have meaning and tell great stories, they often teach a important lesson. In this book the first Christmas its the story of how Jesus came to be,its written so that a child could understand it and it teaches them that there is meaning to this holiday and its not just a time to get gifts,we are celebrating a special birthday. There books always have adorable illustrations and stuff that’s very relatable to children, like the bears themselves. There books are very affordable and something I look forward to reading to my kids for years.

Join the Bear cubs as they learn all about Jesus’ holy birth. From the angel Gabriel’s announcement to Mary to the visit from the three wise men, join Mama, Papa, Brother, Sister, and Honey as they discover the story of the very first Christmas. The newest Berenstain Bears book is out this year just in time for Christmas! The story begins with the Angel coming to Mary, and ends with Mary and Joseph fleeing to Egypt to avoid King Herod. In the spirit of the Berenstein Bears, this book shares values and the story of Christmas itself without being overly preachy. The illustrations are colorful and interesting, and keep young children's attention as you go through the story. If you're looking for a new story to add to your Christmas collection, this could be the one! I recieved this book in exchange for an honest review.

I just love reading the Berenstain Bears books. They bring me back to my childhood from the moment I open the book to the moment I close the book. I love the bright colors and the illustrations. This is a fun way to tell your children the story of the first Christmas. This would be a good addition to add to your child's collection just in time for Christmas.

A new Berenstain Bear book is out this year just in time for Christmas. The Very First Christmas by Jan and Mike Berenstain is part of the Living Lights series, and is for kids ages 4-8 yrs. old. The story begins with the Angel coming to Mary and ends with Mary and Joseph fleeing to Egypt to avoid King Herod. I enjoyed reading through this book and thought that the re-telling of the Christmas story was written well for young children. The illustrations are fun, colorful, and keep the reader's attention. It was fun to read this familiar Bible story illustrated with the Berenstain Bears characters. The Living Lights series has been a good addition to the old Berenstain Bears books. I'm looking forward to wrapping this book up and giving it to my kids this Christmas season! If you're looking for a cute book that tells the true story of Christmas, pick up this newest Berenstain Bears book to add to your library! ***I received this free book from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for an honest review.
