About the Author

Prof. Kara J. Bruce is the ABI Robert M. Zinman Scholar in Residence for the fall 2013 semester and an associate professor of law at the University of Toledo College of Law in Toledo, Ohio, where she teaches bankruptcy, secured transactions and commercial paper/payment law. Her research focuses on business bankruptcy and bankruptcy jurisdiction. Prof. Bruce was the fall 2011 Fellow and current peer-reviewer for the American Bankruptcy Law Journal. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Tulane University School of Law.
