    Is that all there is?

Just nine songs and barely 22 minutes to give a tribute of sorts to a largely unheralded, but excellent group of musicians and their leader. Nonetheless this CD will get you in a happy, toe tappin' mood. This album should have been titled "Just a Very Few of the Best of the Nashville Brass", because there is a whole lot of excellent DD&NB on vinyl out there, but not to be heard here. Even Herb Alpert and the TJB has a respectable represention in the catalog, and why the same is not true of the Nashville Brass, is beyond me. These guys are real musicians, and the original RCA sound on the old LP's is awesome. What little of that that's on this CD by Curb is awesome too, but it's only a sampling. There's not a single clinker in the nine songs here, but San Antonio Rose, Wabash Cannonball, and Mountain Minuet, make this little gem worth having in your collection, and for that I will give it five stars, - but - I want more!
