With out a doubt the best collection of Irish drinking songs ever. You will be singing along in no time. Not bad Joe!

    The samples do not correspond

This is one fine selection of Irish music. The samples you can listen to are NOT from this CD. All these tracks capture the feel you expect from a great CD. I especially like the track "Mountain Dew" (It cures all ills of pagan, christian, jew).

    I think they're good versions

I have had this CD for what must be 10 years. I've always loved it. But I thought that perhaps I was missing something since I've read some less than favorable reviews of it. Now that I have a lot more Irish music, this is still my favorite. After 10 years, I still go and dig this one out of the stacks and listen to it. What's so good? For one thing the tempo I find more fun and enjoyable than many others versions of these same songs. Also, they execute the songs briskly and there's not a lot of talking filler that you find in many other versions. Finnigan's Wake lasts 3:20 on this CD, not 10 minutes like some try to make it. Further, the soul and emotion put into the ballad singing on this CD are better than a lot of versions. Critics be damned, buy this CD if you're looking for an Irish music CD that you'll listen to more times you'll likely admit to your English friends.

There are two kinds of people in the world..

Irish, and those who wish they were. Sometimes you don't know what you've got. I bought this out of a bargain bin and assumed that if I then went actively looking for this type of c.d. I would pay more for something better. What happened is that I've tossed the other ones and still listen to this one often. I still remember my giant brother in law crashing- I mean dancing around to it. This c.d. will make you wish you were at an Irish pub laughing with your neighbor at nothing in particular.
