With the wealth of classic Roy Rogers material available, these 12 tracks are definitely not the cream of the crop. A few decent songs from the early '70s are included: "Candy Kisses," "Lovenworth," "Money Can't Buy Love," and "Happy Anniversary." However, most of the attempts at contemporary material just didn't work for an American hero like the Singing Cowboy. While Dean Martin's version of "Lay Some Happiness on Me" fit his boozy, happy-go-lucky persona, it sounds foolish and flat coming from Rogers. ~ Al Campbell
