The Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year:
(Not to be confused with, "The Year's Best Science Fiction and Fantasy" -- which is hardly comparable)
    .
    • Highly Original
    • Captivating Prose, Beautifully Written
    • Thought Provoking
    • Genuine, Clever
    • Mysterious
    • And All Around Enjoyable.
    .
I absolutely love this anthology. That's coming from---not just a very, VERY particular reader, but---someone who typically does not enjoy short fiction. This series is great for avid fans of the genre(s), and those looking to it for the first time.
    .
Oh and these editions are published on really high-quality paper, as well.
    .
Strahan puts together all the best, most engaging, fascinating, and [literally] awesome award winning pieces from each year. What you see is exactly* what you get. I've been collecting these for years, and will continue to do so unless or until there are no more to be had (which is something I both doubt and dread in equal parts).
    .
'Not sure how relevant this is as well, but, I feel I should also note that it doesn't matter which volume you might decide to pick up first. They're just episodic, stand alone short stories; so you wouldn't be missing out on anything by reading them non-sequentially.
That being said, Volumes No. 7 & 3 have been my favorite thus far.
    .
Alright well I'll quit slobbering allover the place.
Bottom line: go ahead and grab one of these collections and get lost in the realms of wonder and intrigue for a while -- you won't regret it.
