Overview

Why do people drink wine?

Throughout history people have extolled the virtues of wine, but what is it about wine that inspires an emotional response that other historical spirits, like beer, simply do not?

Through forty years of experiencing and reading about the enjoyment of wine, I don’t think that I have ever read anything that adequately explains why people enjoy wine so much. So, I have attempted to capture the essence of the wine experience by touching on culture, law, human relationships, intuition, and great wines through the 2,200 words in this article.

Wine Enthusiast Magazine liked this explanation well enough to publish an excerpt of it as the last page of its December 15 issue.

I hope you enjoy reading my explanation of the best wine ever as much as I enjoyed researching it.

Meet the Author

Jim Wawro, author (Ask Your Inner Voice), executive coach, and former senior partner in a 1400-lawyer firm, discovered while trying cases that some people have learned the secret to actively calling on their own intuition whenever they need it. Jim blogs at http://www.ActivateIntuition.com about proven methods of using intuition to make your own life easier.

Wine is one of Jim’s life-long passions. Excerpts of this essay about the wonderment of wine appeared as the last page (titled “Citations”) in Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s December 15 issue.
