Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Steve Huey
The Better Life, 3 Doors Down's debut album, positions them somewhere between radio-ready post-grunge and more aggressive alternative metal. The best songs are memorable exercises in that style, and even though the songwriting is uneven, that's often to be expected from a first record; there is at least an indication of potential here.

    Worst Album By Anyone Anywhere

This album is flat out the junkiest thing ive ever heard. They don't have any skill at all. I listened to it once then threw it out.

    Uno wordo

Uno Wordo. AWESOME!!! I love this CD! 3 Doors Down has got it all! The music and lyrics are great(and easy to learn) and the other stuff(i don't no what) is also great. I first heard "Kryptonite" on a superman show at a friend's house. I liked it, and then started getting into it. I bought the album and loved every song. Sadly, it was left on an airplane, but I now own "Away from the sun" which is just as great if not better. I highly reccomend all 3DD's music. [except singles]

This is my favorite debut album ever...

I just wish they'd come out with another album; it's been two years already!!! For those who don't have this album (if they're are such persons) I recommend Kryptonite, of course, Loser, By My Side, So I Need You, The Better Life, and Life Of My Own.

3 Doors Down is good Grunge!

A bit of Nirvana, a bit of Nickelback, a bit of Metallica and much of 3 Doors Down. A good combination, a solid record! So why not 5 stars? In my opinion, ''The Better Life'' is jumping too much between genres - they have to find their way.

    Great Band

3 Doors Down is a very talented band. The songs ''Kryptonite'' and ''Loser'' is what first got me interested in this band. They have a very unique sound all their own and have some very nice lyrics. I recommend this band to anyone who likes Lifehouse, or Collective Soul.

truly a rare find, every song rocks!!!

I had no idea what i was getting myself into when i bought this cd, I don't think i can truly say this about any cd, but i love almost every track...each song has something about it, i'm not sure if it's the lyrics or just the rocking tune. I was dying to see them in concert when they opened for creed, but they didn't open for the show i saw at jones beach...days of the new did instead. i'm dying to see them live ANYWHERE, i don't care if it's some hole in the wall bar or an all out concert at the PNC art center. I think i can honestly say they have become one of my favorite bands. You should really check out this cd. I admit i didn't really listen to the whole thing when i first bought it, but now my fav's are by my side, so i need you, duck and run, down poison. 3 doors down really brings something into the mix of what's out there today. they are a unique blend of real rock and alternative. Something you can feel when you hear it...

The Better Life (with better music)...

What can I say? I heard ''Kryptonite'' on the radio and loved it! Then I downloaded ''Loser'' and loved that one too! 2 days later I bought the CD and there isn't a single song I don't like! I'm pretty picky about my music, usually it's hit and miss. Three Doors Down has that unmistakable ''Alternative'' sound, without being too obnixious like some groups. Give it a try, I guarentee you'll love it!

A must have for your CD collection

I bought this Cd after hearing only one song, Kryptonite. I never do that. I have to hear a few more songs first. I do not regret buying this CD. I love every single song on it. That's pretty rare for me cause I usually only like a couple songs on the CD's I buy. This is a must have for anyone who loves good music. Three Doors Down is going places. They are here to stay!

    THE Best!!!!!!!!!!!

The Better Life is probably the best CD I've heard in a LONG time. The CD hasn't come out of my stereo for 3 weeks (since i bought the CD) and I don't intend for it to. Loser is an especially great song.

    3 Doors Down Rock!!!

This CD is the best. Kryptonite is still good even though it's old. Loser is the 2nd best song. The best song is Be Like That, track 5. I need to thank my friend John for introducing me to it. I heard a new version is coming to the American Pie sndtrck.
