Overview

In the year 1950, a bold invitation was published: %u201CThe Watchtower invites careful and critical examination of its contents in the light of the Scriptures.%u201D It is this call that forms the premise for the book, launching an investigation reminiscent of Indiana Jones%u2019 search for priceless artifacts; however, in this case, the author set on a quest for hidden or obscured Watchtower truths, which may have been camouflaged over time. The discoveries were nothing short of profound, and the reader should expect the unexpected!

This book presents a unique, objective comparison of Watchtower doctrine and biblical scripture, while highlighting the importance of discipleship (sharing one%u2019s faith with others). The author also introduces a revealing look at foundational teachings by the Watchtower that are not widely known to Jehovah%u2019s Witnesses today. As such, the material will appeal to Christians and non-Christians alike.

The method in which Cochise Pendleton presented the various arguments is definitely a high point. Fairness was given to each subject for both sides, in presenting the Watchtower's teaching along side the teaching of the Bible on each subject. The format is very easy to read and key points are made clear without excessive wording. I believe Mr. Pendleton's work is capable of causing one negatively effected by Watchtower teachings to realize many of their important doctrines do not agree with Scripture. Inviting the reader to decide for themselves should be a challenge to cause one to see Scripture other than through the eyes of the Watchtower. Charles E. Kelley

Any belief system should bring comfort or change, and if it cannot bring neither then one must be willing to change what one believe, who one is listening to or change what one knows. Cochise Pendleton had placed the Jehovah's Witness belief system before the reader but, instead of allowing Jehovah's Witnesses to respond, it places the responsibility on the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses, the leadership of The Watchtower Society. Anyone who wants to understand what makes dealing with Jehovah's Witnesses at the door or in one's family should gets this book, The Bible vs. The Watchtower (The Jehovah's Witnesses' Authority) You Decide...It gives the reader a serious assessment and how to Scriptural present challenges to them. It also helps Jehovah's Witnesses begin the process of thinking on his or her own apart from what is disseminating from Brooklyn, NY. I am very happy to give Yeshua praise for placing this on Cochise's heart to make this book available and it is my prayer this is a seed to be planted to a Jehovah's Witness in crisis. Thank you so much! Pursuing Yah's Wisdom, Derrick Whitt Messianic Pastor Beth El Study Fellowship Syracuse, NY

The Author has clearly shown the JW Watchtower as being cult-like without being preachy; I truly enjoyed the " You Decide " aspect of the book and due to the Author's Extensive Research, the Reader is shown the overwhelming evidence not favorable to his former JW Faith. Chuck

"I would like to express my gratitude to Cochise for The Bible vs. The Watchtower . You Decide . Cochise's research and scholarship are irrefutable. The facts are documented and commentary is minimized. As an evangelical Christian, I endorse the book . I am grateful to Cochise for affirming the clear Scriptural position of God-man, Jesus Christ, and His finished, redemptive work for all at Calvary. Therefore, I recommend this book for all Christians as a source for evangelizing Jehovah's Witnesses." ... My name is Chum Alexanian

Cochise Pendleton set out to write a book that would provide an anecdote to the Watchtower addiction which controls even those who've left the organization. The last page sums it all up by restating the author's purpose in exposing the Watchtower's lack of credibility which in turn renders their teachings meaningless. I believe he accomplished his goal. As one formerly addicted to the Watchtower's pseudo Christian teachings, I agree that in order to accept any other biblical interpretation, the mighty wall of Watchtower authority has to come down first. "The Bible vs. The Watchtower's" presentation as a "case" shows the qualities of an attorney's touch and in so doing lives up to the title which promises it's jury "you decide..." The scope of this jury ranges from struggling current and former members of Jehovah's Witnesses, the family and friends called to help and understand their addiction, and the body of Christ given the commission to share the true gospel of Jesus Christ with those who show up at their doors. The author offers tips on how Christians can go about sharing their faith respectfully with one of Jehovah's Witnesses and includes the story of his own spiritual journey as well. Among the variety of books authored by former members of this religion, Mr. Pendleton's stands out as unique due to the scores of Watchtower quotes and court case trial transcripts he managed to fit within less than 100 pages. It's concise size with such easily referenced quotes make this a valuable ministry tool for those engaged in reaching Watchtower members. I would also recommend it for church leaders equipping their members through small group studies. Julie former member of Jehovah's Witnesses

This book is exactly what the title states, Bible Vs. The Watchtower, it proves that by using the Bible and comparing it with the Watchtower's teachings, you can come to the conclusion for your self. The Watchtower claim's they are God's sole channel here on earth, the book brings the bible into the light of every claim, even use's the Watchtower's own material! The author present's the evidence you decide! Wonderfully written, informative, not bias, I recommend this book to everyone to read.

This is a polemic from a disgruntled person.
