In 1852 a "cleaned-up" version of the Bible was published by a vegetarian. All references to violence, sex, and meat were taken out.
The image of angels with harps doesn't appear in the Bible. It probably originated from John Milton's poem Paradise Lost.
Fidel Castro announced that "Christ chose the fishermen because he was a communist."

As readers are entertained by these fascinating facts, they'll discover many biblical truths and learn some of Christianity's history.

Big Book of Bible Bloopers: A Lighthearted Look at the Misquotes, Misconceptions, and Misunderstandings of the World's Bestselling Book

More people read the Bible than any other book in the world. The Bible is also, the most ¿misunderstood, misquoted, misused book in the world.¿ J Stephen Lang has written a book filled with interesting bits of information, the reader will find some of the information amusing and some will bring surprise. You would think that serious Bible students would know that Judge Judy was not a judge in Israel nor was Jed Clampett a Bible character. It is rather amazing how humankind can pervert scripture. The Confederates compared themselves to Israel during the Civil War they compared Jefferson Davis to Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt. Many, including John Brown, tried to condone murder through the scriptures. Let us not over look celebrity bloopers. Al Gore called Mary and Joseph a homeless couple even though scripture clearly states they had a home in Nazareth. Fidel Castro stated that Christ was killed because he was a communist. Many will still insist that there were three Wise Men even though it is nowhere to be found in scripture. Neither does it state that Mary Magdalene was a reformed prostitute. The Big Book of Bible Bloopers by J. Stephen Lang is very entertaining and informative. I found myself laughing at some of the bloopers for many were accidental and saddened by the perversion of the scriptures. Reviewed by Debra Gaynor for ReviewYourBook.com, 11/07

Fun Book, Some Bits Amusing, Some Deep

Enjoyed this book immensely. Here is a hodgepodge of people's wrong ideas about the Bible, such as the common belief that there were three wise men, or that the forbidden fruit in Eden was an apple. The book also includes some questions and laughably wrong answers from college-level classes dealing with the Bible, and some of these are a hoot.
