Half of this book is an encyclopedia of the different strains. It tells you whether they are better under sun or artificial lights. It lets you know when each strain harvests, how much to expect, what kind of effects each has and many other important details you can't find anywhere else. At least not in one book. This book has amazing pictures. The other half of the book has interviews with breeders, advice on how to grow, pictures of huge gardens and many other tidbits. The only grip I had was it didnt have some of the more popular varieties that I would expect it to include.

Instead of an ongoing story, this book is a delicious full-color mix and match about 100 different varieties. Nearly every page is its own thing. Everytime I look through it, I find something new that I didn't notice before. I like the little stories that are tucked in around the strains. The way the same information on each variety is a really useful comparison. Plus it tells you different things about each strain so that you can choose your ideal. It's like a wish book for tokers.

Yippee!!!! A stoners desk reference. The information in this book comes directly from the breeders. I can't think of a better source for strain information. Covers yield, buzz, taste, flowering time, parents and history for each strain with beautiful photos throughout the entire book. Get it!

This is the best book on marijuana in print. Page after page of close up photos and detailed description on all types of varieties provide proof that cannabis users have taste. Get out of the closet and enjoy what The Big Book of Buds has to offer.

This book is more of a seed catalog then something new. Rosenthal went to some seed companies, copied their brochures and photos, and made his own book. There are even advertisements from the seed companies whose strains are inside!! The photos are very bad. Half of them are so over-exposed that you can't even tell what they are. There is nothing new here - the only good photos in the book are the ones that have already been in countless High Times's and other books, by other photographers such as Andre Grossman. Check out the Cannabible by Jason King if you want to see a real piece of work on the same subject.

I am not impressed with this book. The photos are not very impressive and Rosenthals strain descriptions are not accurate. Don't waste your money
