Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Judy Katsh
The Search and Find format meets the Insect Zone in this colorful, large format paperback that is teeming with insect life and information. Each two-page spread features a different climate zone and a densely packed picture of the insects that live there. Pictures of native insects, information about them, and "find it" challenges comprise the borders. It's high-density reading, learning, and fun for budding entomologists.

Our preschoolers love to find all the hidden bugs in the pages. After pointing out what we are looking for, they enjoy searching the pages, and counting how many bugs they have found on "their" page. It's good for small groups with the teacher, or for a couple of friends to share the book, and "read" about the bugs. It's a great book for transitions, keeps those children who get dressed for outside first (finished washing their hands, etc.) entertained/occupied for a few minutes while the other children finish up.
