Big L was one of the greatest lyricists that was never heard by the mainstream, and was tragically murdered before he had a chance to break the surface of the underground. But maybe it's better that the mainstream didn't get a hold of him, and therefore his lyrics stayed rawed-out, flamboyant(no pun intended) and to the point. Even though he's gone, his voice still rules the underground scene and songs like ''Casualties of a Dice Game'', ''Triboro'', ''Ebonics'', and ''The heist'' prove why. All hail the King of Harlem.

This joint is one of the hottest albums of the year. If your sick of hearing all the commercial garbage that is out there then give this a listen. One of the tightest MC's ever put on wax.

In that song, Guru rhymes that Big L was "one of the best [MCs] yet," and on The Big Picture, L proves his mic skills worthy of such praise. In his classic single "Ebonics" which also appears on D.I.T.C., L decodes the hip-hop generation's slang vernacular, while on "The Heist" he tells the tale of a ...
