Meet the Author

After literally years of delays, setbacks, side projects, rewrites and concept changes, work has once again commenced on the second act of 'The Black Knight,' which is currently untitled. It will be ready for publication someday in the future. Probably. In order to ease the wait, however, a short interlude story is being written for release sometime soon (hopefully by the end of 2016) which will answer some questions concerning certain characters and events within 'The Black Knight' that seem to have been left hanging or omitted. Size and pricing is yet to be determined, but will likely be in the 1 to 2 U.S. dollar range in an effort to help fund the completion of the full sequel. Writers have bills too ;) UPDATE: February 24th, 2017 THE BLACK KNIGHT: SIN OF THE FATHERS RELEASING SOON A Novella bridging the gap between TBK and its in-production follow up. UPDATE: March 18th, 2017 "The Black Knight: Sin of the Fathers - A Dark Memory" First Draft has just been completed after a 7 hour writing marathon. A smidgen under 63,000 words, but that will change when it's time for the first editing pass. Based on iTunes ebook standards, it's currently 252 pages long. Not quite a mere novella any longer. Even I'm surprised by how I ended it, but anyone who paid attention to the first novel should see it coming. Pricing still TBD

First, the good news: It was 400 pages and free. The bad news: it was 400 pages of 3rd person present tense. It was irritating and frustrating to read. I tried to power through but the characters were flat and wholly unlikable. I find it hard to be empathetic towards a "hero" who is whiny and suicidal. On top of that he was emotionally unattainable. What on earth was there about him that had women falling in love with him? He wasn't particularly kind or brilliant. In fact he spent nearly the entire 400 pages feeling sorry for himself. The princess--sorry Queen was not particularly interesting. She just seemed stuck in the story as a plot device. It introduced the whiny concieted black Knight into the story. You would think that after all hardships the Queen endured, she might have grown and learned something. It didn't seem so--especially at the end when she still had hopes that Alistor would come back to her. Alas she still pines after the standoffish Alistor. Also I am concerned that the author lacks a thesaurus because she used the word smirk in nearly every sentence. He smirked, she smirked, they smirked. It was maddening. If I had to deal with someone who thought himself so superior, I would have left him before page 5. The time that the story was set in seemed horribly vague. Because we are dealing with a man in full armor who fights with a sword, I sort of assumed it was the middle ages. Maybe it was the High Middle Ages because a printing press for all those books weren't available until 1436-40. But whatever--I slogged through the mire and there was no payoff in the end. I don't care a whit about Alistor because he has all the personality of a cardboard cutout. He strung along the queen who thought he cared for her--foolish woman--and proved himself to be a shallow lackwit.

It has been so long since a book has held me as captive as this one. You become entranced by the story and all the characters are marvelous. This a must read, reguardless of prefered genre.

I am suprised by some of the reviews. The author states at the beginning of the book that its going to have typos and some grammatical errors. If you are looking for a perfectly written book, go pay $15.00 bucks for it. The start if the story was a little slow, but once you got further in, it drew you into the story line. I really hope this author is at a place in their life now that they can get the next book written. I would definitely read it. There are so many good characters to build on and lingering questions to take in the next journey. Good read!!

All hail the Black Knight. This book is the first in an epic fantasy, that will keep you wondering what is going to happen next. It starts out slow. Its 1215 pages. However once into the story, and the many stories within the story, you really come to feel these characters as your friends. I highly recommend this book to any fantasy reader.

I really enjoyed this book, but I think it could have been edited better. Also,my pet peeve in the story is when men would insult a female character and call them whore, even when they were stong, intelligent, and caring, whore was the go to word. Besides that,i look forward to next book.

I really REALLY want to read this book, but I have to give up. I made it through 250 pages, but the present tense is killing me. I don't mind 1st person present tense, but 3rd person is just awful. It's a great story though.

It was nice book with a strong plot, but it was very hard to get into and remain into it beings that the book is written as if it was just now happening

I tried to like this book, but because it is written in present tense, I just could not stomach more than 50 pages.
