Unfortunately, her mother has other plans for her that do not include a blacksmith. Her mother is determined to tie Sunny to a rich town counselor. Sunny is desperate to escape the counselor, so she embarks on a series of schemes to get what she wants.

Abel Armstrong has some skeletons in his closet. In the year of 1873, it's quite the scandal to be a divorced man. Over the course of the last ten years, he's had to work very hard to get his reputation back. Meeting Sunny is like a breath of fresh air, but he can't afford to throw caution to the wind and force their joining by doing something disreputable.

Can spankings teach Sunny to have some patience and trust that Abel's way is the right way? And, can Abel deal with Sunny's impulsive scheming and keep his standing in the community intact?

Meet the Author

I began writing for publication at age seven, when a poem I wrote was printed in a children's magazine. A long time went by before I got interested in further publications. I guess I was resting on my laurels. Now, I'm the author of more than twenty novels and novellas.

Although I'm an American, I live in Canada with my husband and a whole lot of houseplants.

Things to note: my books are all romances, in that they are about people falling in love and living happily ever after. They also have quite a bit of erotic/adult content, so be ready for the spicy stuff.

Tells the story of Sunny, a young woman who moves to Carollton, Texas when she and her mother need to move in with family. Lila, her mother, is determined that Sunny find a man of good social standing and enough wealth to care not only for her daughter but for herself. Sunny has other ideas as she is instantly attracted to Abel Armstrong, the local blacksmith. His reputation is slightly stained as he is a divorced man. However, none of that matters to the love struck Sunny who is determined to find a way to get her mother’s approval for them to court. Abel is a traditional man who is as determined as she is but is not willing to allow her to sully her reputation. Sunny discovers that the man of her dreams is not only able to make her heart pound, he can and does make her bottom burn when she is taken across his knees. They marry and Abel discovers that he is not an only child when a letter comes instructing him that his biological father has died and left him an inheritance. They travel to Denver to discover that Johhny Hastings made his fortune as a gambler and was also the father of five sons. Abel hopes that he and his brothers become the brothers they had been denied all their lives. It is a sweet, romantic story including spankings and some well done love scenes. This is also one of the boxed set Sons of Johnny Hastings

This book was an entertaining historical western that although part of a series "The Sons Of Johnny Hastings " was complete on it's own. The characters were likeable and easy to identify with. I loved the character of Sunny. She was the feisty heroine who made things happen and got what she wanted as a result. She also earned herself a few spankings along the way. The was a well written enjoyable story that you won't want to miss. Timberlan127

Great story. Sunny must overcome her mother's misconception that Abel, a part of the 'working class', is not good enough for her. Abel must overcome the bad reputation his divorce and ex-wife have left their wake. Very sweet story with an ending that leaves room for a sequel.

I love western romance. It's a genre that I've only been reading for the past year, but can't get enough. The Blacksmith's Bride by Patricia Green is a great read. I loved Abel. I mean, talk about a sexy stud! I also loved Sunny, she was such a bold female lead. If you love western romance, read this one!

The heat is on. Sunny Winslow and her mother have had to move from Kansas City to Texas to live with Sunny's Aunt and their family because they have run out of money.  It isn't long before Sunny meets the local blacksmith, Abel Armstrong. Sunny is 19 years old-Abel is 40. I found that to be a little offputting but I went ahead and read the rest of the story. Abel is portrayed as a big, kindhearted man. Not your typical Alpha but take charge, nonetheless. He takes Sunny to task for her lying and scheming and comes to her aid on more than one occasion. He tries to do the right thing and court her in a gentlemanly fashion but no matter what he does, Sunny's mother doesn't want a tradesman vying for her daughter's hand.  I probably would have liked the book better if Able stood up for himself more but maybe in the other Johnny Hastings books, their is a difference.

I always love Patricia Green’s books. This is the story of Abel and Sunny. Sunny recently moved to Carrollton from Kansas City with her mother after her father died. Sunny’s mother wants her to make a good match. She tells Abel, “We come from a long line of bankers and businessmen. I'm afraid we'd have little to discuss with a tradesman." Of course, Sunny likes Abel. She is determined to have him and she earns a few spankings from Abel because of the way she goes about it. This is a good story. Abel is determined to be the HoH in their relationship. Sunny is willing to accept his spankings, but she still is a strong character. A lovely addition to the Sons of Johnny Hastings set! 4 stars!

Westerns are often my favorite genre, and these "Sons of Johnny Hastings" books are fantastic! In this one, our sweet but conniving little heroine, Sunny is sure to get her way, but not without any consequences! Abel lovingly takes her in hand. There are lots of spankings since she doesn't learn her lessons very quickly, but that is all part of the fun! My advice is to buy the whole boxed set!!

A sweet story with some very well-written characters. I really enjoyed Sunny - despite her mother's attempts to oppress her, she remained positive and determined to get what she wanted. Able was an interesting change from the other males in this series. He was softer, kinder, and seemed more vulnerable. I wouldn't label him an Alpha male - he was too laid back and indecisive. An Alpha would have taken matters into his own hands regarding getting Sunny for his wife. I also didn't care for the fact that he spanked her in front of people...on the bare. Especially after he was so angry an her mother for slapping her and "reducing her human dignity." He did the same thing IMO, and I was hoping that Sunny would have reacted more to that. I also wish Sunny mother would have had more of a comeuppance - she was awful Well-written, but awful! Loved the meeting of the brothers - more emotional this time. Another enjoyable story in the series.

This is a great story and I couldn't stop reading it. I love the way Abel takes Sunny in hand and teaches her what is expected. The mother is an awful creature but she comes around in the end.

This story is very enjoyable to read. Abel is a strong character that you can’t  help put cheer for from the very start. Sunny is a lovely young lady who has  fallen for Abel and just wants to be his wife. Sunny’s mother has other plans  for Sunny and refuses to give consent for them to see each other. When Sunny takes matters into her own hand, Abel takes Sunny in hand.

Another great story from 'The Sons of Johnny Hastings' Series and I loved it just as much. Again it was well written, fun and entertaining from start to finish. Just like Matt, Abel was a stern and no-nonsense guy but he was also loving and caring. I also like the fact the brothers stories intersect with one another bringing them all together. Each one is written by a different person making sure each brother and story is different and has it's own personality. I loved it.

Sweet love story where Sunny has to be a bit naughty to get what she wants but Abel is more than willing to address the issue.  Very HEA that was fun to read with lots of little misadventures.

Sunny is a spoiled young miss, but Able is stern and more than capable of handling her antics. He exudes confidence and care in a mature and sexy way. Patricia Green keeps us panting from beginning to end with the sexual tension between the couple. Of course, she always delivers and the fulfillment is just as thoroughly breathtaking. If you're like me, you'll be begging for more!

Sunny goes bottom's up under Abel's hand Sunny Winslow and her widowed mother, Lila, have moved from Kansas City to Carrolton, TX to live with Lila's sister and her family due to financial circumstances.  At a church dinner, Sunny takes a liking to the local blacksmith, Abel Armstrong and he to her.  Sunny is 19 years old and Abel is twice her age.  Her mother has different plans, insisting on a more society match, to a young councilman.  Well Sunny schemes and lies and Abel takes her in hand for it.  She actually causes a scene at the blacksmith's shop with the Mayor and his wife present, as well as Lila.  Oh she gets her wish when Abel let's everyone believe they are engaged, but Sunny's bottom with pay.
