    Wonderful

I feel it is never too soon to start expanding a child's vocabulary. This book does just that. As a child care provider i read many books. This story is fun to read and easy for the children to follow while also teaching them new words and new ways to structure sentences.

A Story With an Object Lesson

As the title of the review suggests, this neat little story serves a real purpose: it delivers a wonderful illustration of an important moral via it's main character. That lesson? Sharing. While I would agree with another reviewer with regard to some of the more advanced word choices used in this book, I can only speak from experience (i.e., my daughter's). My daughter, who is currently 5 at the time of this writing, is turning out to be a true linguaphile, obsessed with finding out what new words mean, and how they are to be used in a sentence. This book, therefore, is right up her alley. It truly helps to expand a child's vocabulary, and my daughter is already using bigger words correctly in her everyday speech (and she isn't being forced to). So while it may not be for everyone, I feel the book, including its language, object lesson, and overall story, is an important one, and in fact will add something special to a child's book collection. Highly recommended!
