Meet the Author

It was the 1960s. The place was Hudson County, New Jersey...mere minutes away from midtown Manhattan. Jon D’Amore was first published at 10. A story he’d written about the Civil War was transformed into a mimeographed book and distributed throughout the county school system. He went on to write for the school newspaper.

During that time the pre-teenager also began studying the guitar, leading him to hone his love and knowledge of music and the art of composing. By his mid-20s Jon was traveling cross-country as a musician.

While touring during the 1970s, he was also a feature writer for New Jersey’s 3rd largest newspaper, The Passaic Herald News, simultaneously allowing him to enjoy the best of his favorite worlds; Playing rock & roll and writing.

In 1985, Jon found a different side of life. He said, “Goodbye and it’s been a slice!” to the music business and got a job in the corporate world.

By 1999, another change was about to take place. For more than two decades Jon knew that within him there was the desire and ability to write, it’s just that New Jersey wasn’t the place to do it. So he drove to Los Angeles...and stayed.

He started writing as soon as he arrived and didn't stop until the manuscript and screenplay for The Boss Always Sits In The Back were completed.

Since then, Jon’s written and co-written several screenplays and articles, and is currently co-writing the screenplay “The Chess Club” with famed Disney director, Brad Raymond.

Jon still resides in California where he writes all the time...and continues to wait for the check that’s supposedly in the mail.

    WOW!!! Explosive.

Jon D'Amore has brought to the literary world, another gripping tale of "La Famiglia". Hudson County, Las Vegas, New York the whole gambit. I could not put this book down. Thank God an e-reader. like the Nook could travel. The warmness of family, and the trust of one person, in the form of Jon as narrator, and star was terriffic. Being from the area myself, I not only could relate, but I felt part of this action. Keep writting Jon, I cannot wait for the next book. This book has guts, style and flair. A must for anyone into New Jersey, 'The Godfather trilogy", and history.

Highly Recommended - you won';t be able to put it down

One of the best books I have ever read. I finished the book in two days finding myself unable to put it down.
As if it wasn't enough that the book tells a great story, it is written a manner that the reader is able to picture places, characters, situations, etc. as if physically there.
Jon D'Amore has made it possible through words for the reader to place himself, if only in mind, well within the story. Moreover, I found each scene, situation and charater easily relatable to personal experiences. Although, by no means of the kind nerrated in the book.
In summation, this is and excellnt story, written in a well manner, and providing the reader a fantastic reading experience.

Being from this part of New Jersey brings back many memories. The places, the people and the rhythm of the times resonates throughout this book. It is a real, insider's look at a New Jersey mob scam and the family connections that weave together forming an exciting, page turning experience. As a retired Union City police chief who grew up and still lives in Union City NJ, I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
