Meet the Author

Jon has lived in the Midwest USA for what feels like eons. Aside from brief sorties to New York, Winnipeg, and Baja California, and a longer sojourn in France (mainly Paris), the Midwest is where he's stayed, got his own degree in French (like Ben, in "Bumps," he found it no help in getting a job), and spent his working career: basically in civil service, including fascinating and sometimes even exciting work during seven years with a large metropolitan police department, as a civilian employee. (That's where he found his respect and admiration for police officers, which is occasionally reflected in his writing.)

Interests besides writing include classical music, reading, computers, and good movies. A bicycle commuter for several years, Jon racked up over 14,000 miles in (mostly) rush-hour traffic before an inner-ear disorder sabotaged the sense of balance, and hence cycling.

For several decades he was an ardent journal writer, before unexpectedly turning to fiction as a result of taking part in NaNoWriMo in 2010 (total failure) and 2011 (winner).

(Yawn...) Time for a nap, I think.

    Adorable

Very realistic. I wish there had been more detail on the romance part, but this was a great short story.
