It's okay, but not satisfactory as a short story

This is a short story as an intro to a novel. It was well written, but didn't pull it off as a short story--the ending was too abrupt and not really an ending. This was more of a prologue or first chapter.

That having been said, it was good enough for me to check out the novel.

    Did no like

I did not care for the book only for the simple fact that I don't think it was the whole book.

    Quick read

You get a short story and a sample for another book. In tbhe short basically a boy upset he and the family are moving and at a stopover at a seedy motel, he comes across something while walking his dog. Short and sweet. Not bad.
