When I first saw the cover, then read the title and summary for The Boyfriend Thief, I said, okay, this is going to be fun and cute. Well, I definitely judged this book wrong. Shana Norris is an amazing author. She's delivered the most heartfelt and powerful story in what I call the domino effect. When a selfish person chooses their wants or desires over love for others, just one selfish act can tip the domino, hitting the next person, and causes pain, hurt and destruction. And on and on, until one person is strong enough to say NO MORE! Then say yes to healing, giving, and love.
Shana Norris is a brilliant writer. She brings this story to life. Avery, a sixteen-year-old girl, who's been abandoned and hurt by the one person who you're supposed to trust in their love for you. Avery thinks she's strong, has everything in control, and is doing everything right-that she has the prefect plan for life. Then she ends up being Zac's partner on a school project, and where she thought she had control and truth about her life, Zac shows her another way that brings Avery's walls crumbling down. Zac has the domino effect in his life, too. But this is the beauty of love and the healing it can bring, if they will allow it.
The storyline in The boyfriend Thief is heart-breaking, but strong and beautiful. I was awestruck with Shana Norris' gift of clarity and depth as she showed Avery and Zac's pain and hurt, and the damage it can do. But also the beauty of healing. I love Avery and Zac's characters, and their story of love's healing. I highly recommend The Boyfriend Thief as a must read. You will be glad you didn't miss reading this book.

Shana Norris is an amazing author, and she certainly wrote this book well. Me being a tween didn't find this book challenging, but it was very good, and the story line was very creative.

Just from the descriptions of Zac, I feel like he is a juvenile who shows no potential for having profound romantic moments, if you know what I mean. I got bored easily.

Well thought out. A little corny at times, but to be expected of a teenage love story.
