Simply a Must Have for Any Bride of Groom to Be

Planning a wedding is one of the most wonderful times in a bride's life. Unfortunately, it's also one of the most chaotic, stressful, and confusing times as well. The Bride & Groom's Wedding Checklist & Planner Guide manages to take all of your questions, fears, and concerns, and deal teach you how to handle each one. Heather Grenier does an absolutely fabulous job of "laying it out there" for the bride and groom.

The book is written in a friendly and encouraging tone that empowers and guides the reader, be they bride OR groom, through every step of the wedding planning process. From choosing your wedding cake filling and assigning seats, to picking flowers based on season and meaning, this book literally walks you through everything you need to know. There are also handy "Case Studies" directly from the experts that give you insider information, and a few tips on potentially wedding-wrecking issues that can easily be avoided. As an added bonus, it comes with a CD-ROM equipped with every wedding checklist you could possibly think of.

This book is by far the best wedding how-to guide I've ever seen. Definitely worth purchasing for yourself or a loved one.

Bride & Groom's Wedding Checklist & Planner Guide

I found this book to be very useful and informative. I am planning my third wedding, and with the help of this book, it is going a lot smoother than my first two weddings. It also has some interesting facts that I didn't know about why somethings are done.

I wish I had this when I got married

The Bride and Groom's Wedding Checklist and Planner Guide is an excellent resource for engaged couples. It is exhaustively detailed and set out in a user-friendly chronological format that takes the couple from proposal to honeymoon. It provides tools such as checklists, worksheets, lists of questions to ask hired professionals and case studies from couples who have had successful weddings as well as advice those who work in the field.
This book is designed specifically to de-stress the engaged couple, their friends and families. The focus is on presenting every detail and possible challenge with a variety of approaches and solutions. This allows the couple to enjoy their engagement and the process of wedding planning - previously an oft dreaded chore.
I found the author's inclusion of not often discussed wedding topics such as finding the proper dress for one's body type, using the engagement party to help families get to know one another, detailed advice on the process of changing one's name, and very thorough advice on choosing the groom's attire to be thoughtful and refreshing. It is clear that the author wants their readers to have a beautiful and enjoyable wedding process and it is this caring tone that sets this wonderful and indispensable book apart from others of its kind.

Don't get married before reading this book!

I would highly recommend this book for someone planning a wedding. Although, I feel it is written a bit awkward at times, this book is a definite plus for planning a wedding. I can't think of a thing that was left out. Even the latter half of the traditional use of the old adage "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" is incorporated. It was nice to see the "special reading" suggestions noted. These beautiful examples provide great options for the wedding ceremony. The checklist at the end of every chapter reiterated in the appendices keeps everything on track.

I liked it that the writer directed the reader to bridal websites and magazines for current hairstyle and other trends, even though she didn't use that term. Trends change quickly, so it could have outdated the book in short order. One thing I never saw mentioned was the potential replacement of the bride's maid/matron of honor for the "man of honor," which recently arrived on the wedding scene. This may become a new staple in wedding ceremonies.

Something I thought was somewhat curious was that the wedding stationery chapter was placed at the end of the book. The book states that these should be ordered six months in advance, even before visiting the groom's wedding party attire. Overall, though, the book provides thorough pre- through post-wedding details, direction and information.

Must have for the happy couple

I wish I had this book when I was planning my wedding. It is the most complete guide I have seen, covering details from the engagement through the honeymoon and after. The author explains what tradition is at all stages, but always encourages the bride and groom to make the event their own, to be creative and do it with joy. She is like a big sister taking you by the hand and walking you through the whole process.
There are hundreds of details to be attended to when planning a wedding. This book covers them all. It even has a whole chapter on budget-saving tips. At every stage of the plan, there are checklists and forms for keeping track of information to help in making decisions, and to track the budget. She provides sample wording for everything from engagement announcements, wedding invitations, marriage vows and thank you notes. She also has lists of songs often used at the reception for first dance, mother son dance, father daughter dance, last dance. There are lists of flowers for different times of year, and suggestions for hors d'ouevre and entrees.
Wedding planning can be overwhelming. This book is there at every step, anticipating problems, offering options, helping the couple make this time special and memorable
