Overview

Shaye Montgomery is the tour manager for her childhood friend and major recording artist, Rayne Green. Rayne disappears on the night of a sold-out concert in Chicago, leaving Shaye to pick up the pieces while trying to figure out what happened to her friend.

Shaye flies from Seattle to Chicago in an effort to investigate Rayne's disappearance, and finds herself transported back in time and trapped in a tiny cabin with a badly beaten man.

Laughing Crow is a talented tracker who, while on the way to join his friends in Harrisburg for Thanksgiving, is attacked by a group of men and left for dead. He finds himself being tended to by a beautiful and mysterious woman who captures his heart and turns his life upside down.

Despite his love for Shaye, Laughing Crow must keep her at a distance, in a misguided effort to protect her from society. Heartbroken, Shaye chooses to leave, changing the course of their lives forever.

Will the man known for finding the unfindable be successful in his pursuit of the woman he loves?

Wow Tracey Jane Jackson hit the ball out of the park with this one. Time travel, intrigue, romance, it's all there. Something for everyone! Usually with her books there are people looking for friends or relatives after the first book where the first person was transported to the Civil War era, who are sent there also.

Meet the Author

Tracey was born and raised in New Zealand, and that's where her love of horses was formed. Her grandfather taught her to ride at four years old, and she couldn't get enough.

Her love and passion for Abraham Lincoln and the entire Civil War era might have come from her American father, however, he lays no claim to influencing her. Tracey's mother used to tell her she was simply born in the wrong place in the wrong time.

Tracey hasn't always wanted to write. It took her a long time to get started, but now she doesn't seem to be able to stop, the joy of escaping to the 1860s is too much fun.

She's been happily married and gooey in love with her husband for seventeen years. They live in the Pacific Northwest with their two sons.

Wow! I have loved every book in this series but this one is by far my favorite. Crow and Shaye are great characters. The story is filled with sweet, tender, loving moments. I laughed and cried but I loved every word. I hope there are more to follow.

Wow Tracey Jane Jackson hit the ball out of the park with this one. Time travel, intrigue, romance, it's all there. Something for everyone! Usually with her books there are people looking for friends or relatives after the first book where the first person was transported to the Civil War era, who are sent there also. This book is about Shaye Montgomery who is looking for her missing friend, rock star, Rayne. She is transported back to the Civil War era where she finds a large Indian man who has been beaten almost to death and they help each other to get out of the elements in this abandoned cabin. They fall in love, but the problem is that in the Civil War Era, they cannot marry, and for Shaye, marriage is a big deal and she isn't putting out until then. She can't believe that she can actually get him in very big trouble just by standing up for him or being caught holding hands with him. I can't spoil things. This is my favorite book out of the series of seven to date and you have to get this one to read what happens! I give this one Five Stars but would give it Six If I could!

Really recommend reading this adventurous story. This is my favorite story of this series. After traveling to the Civil War era, Shaye meets and falls in love with Crow. Even though their relationship has a rocky start, they slowly find love through time. After reuniting with her lost friend in the past and spending some time with friends, Shaye returned to the modern world. This story shows that ultimately love and friendship overcome obstacles.  All of Tracey Jane Jackson's stories are an enjoyable read. Really looking forward to seeing what happens to these characters in each story within their time.

Though there is a bit of a formula to the series, the characters really drive these books. Enjoyed the time travel twist in this one. Neat to read how Crow deals with his final choice. The more I read the series, the more I enjoyed revisiting the main characters and getting yet another clue to motives and reach of power the rival political family has.
