The Brides United is the final book, number nine I believe, in the Civil War Series written by Tracey Jane Jackson. I've read all of them and some of the books I felt more connected with than others. I enjoyed them all. I love history, love stories and time travel and the author combined all of these in each book. Eventually many of the friends and family of the original people who went back in time to the Civil War era, in looking for them stumbled across the correct place and time to be sent back also. Some found ways to return, many didn't or did and decided to stay where they were. They gave up all of the things we take for granted like plumbing, phones, cars, hot water on tap, etc. So much they gave up for love. They met their true loves in the past and decided they wished to give up all their friends and family they left behind in order to choose true love.

The books are all filled with history of the Civil War during the time they went back to, and much about the time leading up to the attempted or assassination of President Lincoln. They did wish to stop that point in history I can't tell whether they were successful or not, that would giving away an important part of the last book! I love this series and the final book really does wrap all of the people up and the history up in one big bow. Tracey, the author finished her series in a very good fashion. You feel like the series is truly finished.

I can't say enough about Tracey's writing she has another story line of a completely different type of genre, that is some more of her fabulous writing. I believe the fist in that series is "Bound By Blood" you have to read that one!

    Melody

Ashen Sky rushed in. "Melody! Melody! There's a hurt cheetah cub in the clearing! Come quick!"
"What?" Melody quickly finished Flutter's poultice and grabbed more herbs and cobwebs. She left without another word.
