    "Cool" Defined, For That Time

    Defining what is cool for any era is a strictly subjective exercise (as is even defining cool), but the whole world agreed during one brief era that what defined cool had to be British. If it looked British (not "foreign" or third worldish), it was cool. If it sounded British (people even faked British accents) it was cool. If the music resembled what at the time might be British (many Top 40 AM hits by American bands), it was definitely cool. If you have an urge to relive the glorious days when Britain was atop the world in all the important arts (film, music, fashion . . .must I go on?), get this book to gaze upon the huge photos of the coolest people in the world, surfing the cutting edge, blazing trails, and enjoying their beautiful moment in the sun. Bonus points go to this volume for including photos of the most gorgeous people on the planet at that time, Julie Christie and Albert Finney. Hail Britannia!
