Meet the Author

W. Michael Walker is the author of the interactive children’s ebook, The Bully Busters. Also, look for the release of his second book in the series, The Bully Busters: Boot Camp Crazy, due out this winter. Audio versions of his books will also be available soon.

For fifteen years, Walker taught middle and high school mathematics in the public school system near Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is an award-winning teacher who maintained a humorous, engaging, and safe classroom environment. Mike insists that his greatest compliments come from former students who say he made math fun and easy to learn. It sounds crazy, but it’s true!

Administrators continually praised Walker’s ability to communicate with and relate to students. That is what makes him a special writer for this genre. Mike understands kids and more importantly, effectively speaks their language. For proof, check out the interactive and warped glossary from his book.

While teaching full-time, Walker began writing The Bully Busters. The idea originated from his frequent exposure to juvenile bullying. He admired those students who defended bullying victims and risked looking uncool in doing so. These “game changers,” as Walker liked to call them, were the inspiration behind his books.

Walker is also a decorated high school cross country and track coach. He plays the guitar and drums, and is an outdoor enthusiast and travel junky. He has a wife and two daughters who he loves dearly. Mike is now a full-time writer.

Great sense of humor and message!

My kids really loved this book. They even felt like they had to read me a few of the funny parts. Definitely a story in line with their sense of humor. Great message also.
